"Comfort"
I created this piece using micron archival ink and acrylic on fine tooth surfaced Strathmore sketch paper. I choose these materials because I value the delicacy they allow the piece to hold. Very small lines allow for the bigger, visceral emotion to be revealed in a simplistic fashion.
“Comfort” depicts a silent scene of 3 anthropomorphic creatures - two of them solemnly comforting the dreary-feeling dog. I created this piece to contain the feeling of comfort. The knowing intelligence of the beings provide a unique solace to the dog, and he rests in their arms willingly.”

"Twins"
I really enjoy dreaming unique worlds in collaboration with event organizers and the musicians they book. This one was for my local DIY scene when we hosted the respective bands Pons and Venus Twins, both out of New York City. Our local acts Hartle Road + Bored to Tears were wonderful additions to the lineup.
I correlated the features in the piece to the imagery in the bands' names. I study brain stuff, so I enjoyed adding the Pons as the symmetry center. There's a later version in which I hand-drew tears following Bored to Tears' late addition to the bill.

"Discourse", 2024
To create this piece, I utilized graphite on drawing paper. This piece is a reflection of the wisdom and knowledge I have gained from my colleagues and friendships in the past 3 years at university. It is a tribute to the discourse and beautiful conversations that come from being in an enriching environment and being surrounded by passionate people within the scientific community.

"Love"
Experimented a lot with mixed media last fall. Even my apartment sink was not left unscathed.
I fixated on this particular process for a while. Take a photo of something, anything, and then print it out. Draw, paint, cry, sneeze onto that copy and then scan it in again.

"Sweet Baby" collage experiment project from MacGown Solo Artist Residency
This piece was created in part of a series of experimental collages that I placed in pre-loved frames. The series was a creative exercise for me during a solo artist residency I completed at MacGown Studio in Sessums, MS during the summer of 2023. Sweet Baby recently was shown in SAAC's fall exhibit highlighting art and poetry. It was also featured in the Reflector's write-up on the exhibit.
