My classmates and I at Mississippi State University spent four days in New York to study art and design in the field.
The trip included office visits to Gensler and Pentagram. We met with Mississippi State Alumni. We visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Modern Museum of Art, we visited various galleries. Throughout the trip, we were to do only one assignment in the course thus far - which was to fill our hand-made sketchbooks with ideas and reflections and moments.
We culminated the course with a self-produced gallery showing at the One Night Only space in the Howell Metal Shop.
My most involved contribution to our group exhibition was to organize the flier that’s here below. It’s sized at 11x17inches.
I asked my classmates to provide me with various materials, and I arranged a composition that allowed the individual personalities of my classmates to be celebrated.
Sunny Walters provided me with graphics of an apple and pidgeon.
Hallie Walters and Hallie Mendez contributed other various elements.
My contributions include the pink-hair girl figure illustration and the composition arrangement.
Adrian provided me with the photo for the background which he captured on 35mm film.
